week15-Global Business Communication – focus on Intercultural Mannerisms.

First of all i really liked the topic and i think it gives an important information that is necessary for us to learn as the world is becoming more and more global and it is important to understand and be sensitive towards different cultures. I think the personal interest and introduction do a very good job in explain why the topic was chosen and it is even able to creat interest in reading the web poster. The findings are very relevant to the topic and there is some decent amount of work that can be done in the future. I really enjoyed reading this web poster.

I agree that being sensitive toward different cultures is a positive course to take. If we are in the process of being sensitive then we are not quick to judge; we aren't quick to discriminate; we aren't quick to see that we may be going the same things. If we take the attitude that we all have something interesting to offer, then we might be in a better place to engage with one another and interact through organizations. I can hear the music now...Imagine all the people, living life in peace.... (sorry about that)

I agree that Kartik’s Web Poster is very relevant to organizational communications with the current trend of organizations becoming more global. When communications between different cultures is not only occurring face to face but also over the phone and video it is important to be aware of how other cultures interpret certain phrases and gestures. Almost all of our IT support is based in India so quite often I have meetings late at night with individuals from another culture and the first few times I must admit it was difficult to get use to it. I have taken some training through the company that focuses on being aware of and sympathetic towards communication difference in cultures.
